Although it takes a little time to prepare for this activity, it is definitely worth it if you can recycle it for a number of classes. Students love it and there is also serious learning. The way it works is that students have to offer words to make complete sentences, including themes, verbs, objects and other words. Then they can negotiate with other groups and the winner is the group with the most complete sentences. Then the teacher says a subject and the basic form of a verb (he eats). The student must write it correctly (he eats). Then the next student has to finish the sentence. The first team that does it correctly gets a point. Continue until everyone has a chance to play. One of the most common problems I find in my letter is that they have ignored agreement on the subject. When I give them correction checklists, that`s often the first thing I point out, and I put them in orbit around each case in which it happens. That`s why I often like to expose this theme using a few calling techniques. Start with the theme, then deal confused, which is the right verb! Students will love to tell you what it is.

A subject-verb chord error is when the subject and verb do not match in number. For example, a single subject (s) with a plural verb (eat). The right form is: “He eats.” Then tell a subject and the student must make a sentence with that topic, along with their verb and then finish the sentence one way or another. Easy, but effective! One way to introduce and teach this important grammar point is as an audition lesson. In this case, students may be asked to hear something and choose examples of agreement between the subject and the verb.
